How puppy pampers work

Puppy pampers
A good start at the groomers, at your puppy's pace.
For puppies aged between 12 & 24 weeks. The earlier you can bring your puppy in to see us, the better. It's important that puppies get used to being groomed from a young age and are introduced to it gradually. Leave it too late and jump in at the deep end, and grooming can feel very stressful. So over 4 sessions we build up the process at your puppy's pace, introducing the dryer, bath, scissors, combs and table a little at a time.
The first session is free!
Come and say hi, have a play in the salon and some tasty natural treats.

Session one
Say hi (and it's free)
The first session is free! Bring your puppy in to see us and say hi, have a play in the salon and some tasty natural treats.

Session two
The table and the treats
We'll gently place your puppy on the table and hand feed them yummy treats to build up a positive relation with them standing on the table. They'll be brushed and combed calmly, we'll pop them in the bath (with no water) and bring the low-velocity dryer over and turn it on, never aimed at your puppy, just so they get used to the noise. Kept short and sweet at around 15 minutes. We won't overwhelm your puppy.
- 3
Session three
A first bath
A bath using only the gentlest of shampoos, with some cream cheese on the side of the bath to keep them occupied. Then a blow-dry on a low setting and low heat, with a happy hoodie placed over their ears to muffle the noise, a brush and comb through, and a trim around the eyes and bottom. We'll save the nails for next time, and we always finish with a play.
- 4
Session four
Their first full groom
In the final session, we'll give your puppy their first ever full groom; nails and all! They'll look so grown-up!

Kind words
Happy dogs, happy owners.
Wow!! What an amazing groomer! Ciara is one of the very few people you will meet that cares for the welfare of your dog over the groom. Our cockapoo went to Ciara after having a very traumatic experience with another groomer, she was very timid at first, but after each and every groom she gets so much better. She is so content and even at points falls asleep on the table when being brushed. I can’t suggest Ciara and her team enough for the kindness and patience they have shown us and our cockapoo! Thank you!
This was our puppy’s first visit to a groomer at almost 6 months. She was fantastic with him and really set him at ease. He is going back next Monday for a first trim and we have been doing all the reassurance things we have been advised will help. Great caring service and the puppy loved her without any issues or fears.
I’m not local but I stopped by yesterday on the off chance that Ciara would be able to do a quick trim of Geoff’s face, beard and moustache that had got a bit scruffy since her last big groom. Clearly it was busy in there but Ciara took the time to call her colleague and arranged for her to come in to do the job for me, pretty much straightaway. Geoff was surprisingly well behaved but still made a fuss and didn’t make the job easy but the professionalism and experience was evident and we came away with a sharp look. Very happy with the job and I highly recommend this groomer.

My Shih-Tuz Mitzi had her first groom here this morning & definitely won’t be the last. Fantastic service. Mitzi looks fab & left happy. Lovely, helpful staff. Highly recommend.
